Downtown Trolley
All Aboard!
In June 2025, the Texarkana Arts & Historic District Committee acquired a 1999 Freightliner Trolley Bus from the Ark-Tex Council of Governments with a simple vision: bring a unique and nostalgic experience to downtown while creating a new way for residents and visitors to connect with our community.
Over the course of a year, the trolley was restored by local businesses and City staff, transforming it into one of downtown's newest attractions. Today, it serves as a rolling ambassador for the Arts & Historic District, carrying passengers through the stories that have shaped Texarkana while showcasing the exciting revitalization happening today.
Whether you're joining us for a guided historical tour, a seasonal ride, or a special community event, we hope every trip aboard the trolley helps you discover something new and make lasting memories in downtown Texarkana, USA.

Trolley Usage
The Texarkana Arts & Historic District allows usage of the trolley to non-profits, businesses, educational institutions, and government entities. Use of the trolley is limited to approved purposes supporting tourism, arts, history, culture, community engagement, or other purposes approved by the AHD Committee.

Trolley Usage at a Glance

Application Deadline: Applications should be submitted at least 45 days before your event

Sponsorship: Every applicant must submit a letter or email of support from one of our Arts & Historic District Committee members.

Usage Fee: $200 non-refundable (billed before event and helps support maintenance, cleaning, and future trolley programming)

Mileage Fee: $1.50 per mile (billed after the event)

Driver Fee: An AHD approved driver is required. Driver fees are billed separately based on the contracted rate which can range from $25-$40 per hour (billed after the event)

Minimum Reservation: 3-hour minimum

Capacity: Up to 28 seated passengers at a time

Accessibility: Wheelchair accessible

Smoking/Food/Alcohol: There is a strict no smoking/vaping, no food and alcohol policy aboard the trolley. Non-alcoholic beverages are permitted only in secure, spill resistant containers with a screw-on or locking lid.
